One of the world’s premier credit agencies, Fitch, has upgraded Brazil’s local and foreign currency debt to BBB from BBB-, and its country ceiling to BBB+ from BBB. This rapid improvement – Brazil’s debt was at junk status a few years ago – demonstrates growing international awareness of the Brazilian economy’s staggering development: ‘the country of now’, according to Forbes.
